Weekly Devotion
I love the change I feel in the air. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year! While the weather changes (God designed it that way) and things change, (2020 is proof positive of that!) I take such great comfort in the fact that GOD NEVER CHANGES! That is why over and over God is called our ROCK. Listen to a few examples…

- There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God. I Samuel 2:2
- The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. Psalm 18:2
- He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he. Duet. 32:4

So today, no matter how the storms may shake you, you can still have confidence, if you are standing on the solid rock of Christ Jesus!

Pastor's Note
Dearest TFBC Family,
I pause to write you a few lines today and they are not at all what I thought they would be. I thought I would be writing words of welcome as Ethan Bourne prepared to come to be our worship pastor. I thought I would be sharing some ideas on how to make that a good transition for him and for us. I thought we would be looking forward to the Sunday that he stepped into the role. But that was not to be. Your search committee was surprised when he said he just did not have peace with coming that Sunday in September, but we take great comfort in the fact that God was not surprised. No, he is not surprised, and Yes, he has a plan. As we continue to pray and trust he will reveal it to us. That’s our job- pray and trust. Rest assured God will do his part. In the meanwhile, continue to support and pray for Pastor Greg as he is stretched thin covering 2 major roles. Pray for your search committee for clarity and direction. God will guide!

As I wrap up my comments I need to remind you that a few events are starting to pop back onto the church calendar. Check out the info on the TFBC Cruise In, and Fall Cinema Night plans. Don’t forget Homecoming is right around the corner- November 1st (more details on that to come!). And never forget that our nation and its leaders need our prayers as we head into fall elections. Will you join me in 30 days of prayer for our church and our nation? Starting Oct. 1, our church will be uniting in prayer for God to turn our hearts back to him. He is your only hope and he is our country's only hope. Printed prayer guides are available, or you can get the online prayer guides by going to

Blessings in Christ,
Pastor Mike
