Greetings my dear TFBC church family.
Words cannot adequately express my thanks to you for the gift of love for our 20 year anniversary and for the many acts of kindness- but thank you from the bottom of my heart. Sandy and I have been truly blessed to have had the opportunity to serve the Lord among you and with you for this time. We look forward to what God has yet in store. Again we are sincerely grateful for your outpouring of support. Some of you may wonder about the extra time off that Kim referred to- Sandy and I are looking toward 2020 to enjoy that time away. But for now we are busy with all the activities of the summer- and looking so forward to them and praying for God’s blessing. So many good things are on the schedule for the summer… the new playground project is moving ahead, VBS is right around the corner, our youth will be going on their missions trip to New Orleans, and TFBC Children’s Summer Camp is coming up quick.
But with all these things going on there may be some projects that are happening that you may not even know about. Let me tell you about one. Did you know that a walking trail and an outdoor worship area is being carved out on the back side of our church property? Our youth, particularly our young men have taken on this project, and it’s going to be great! They are blazing a trail that will be able to be used by all- and while it’s not far at all from the church it has the feeling of “being in the woods”. My hats off to those who are working on this undertaking! Say, do you realize that God has called all of us to “blaze a trail”? We are thankful for those who came before us – they cleared the way and laid the foundation for the work of the Lord that is being done today. And we, with the work that we are doing, are blazing a trail for those who will come after us. The greatest work, let me remind you, is not the improvements made on the church property, but rather the work done in the hearts of people. Don’t ever forget that is how the Gospel of Jesus gets spread and passed on to the next generation. Let’s remember, every time you and I share what the Lord has done in your life with someone that needs to hear, we are blazing a trail for God’s message in people’s hearts. Aren’t you glad someone told you about Jesus? Then let’s be that trailblazer for others.
With A Shepherd’s Love,Pastor Mike
